Body Rider Magnetic Elliptical TrainerLow Price: $244.00
If you are looking for a good, beginning elliptical, then usually you don’t have to look any farther than the products made by Icon fitness. One such model, the BodyFit elliptical trainer, is a great example – even though your probably had no idea that it was made under the Icon fitness umbrella (and let’s face it – most everything is made by them when it comes to fitness equipment).
So, if you are looking for such a begginer model elliptical, is the BodyFit a good one? Unfortunately, judging that soley by even the most detailed BodyFit ellipitical trainer review will be a difficult task, given there are not many reviews out there.
However, one way to tell if a machine is good is too look at who makes it. The Bodyfit model is branded under the Proform name, which is a much more popular machine, and is one of the discount lines for Icon. However, when it comes to fitness equipment, you can rest assured that Icon is a good name and makes decent equipment – even their cheap stuff isn’t too bad, although it is not as good as their high end or middle of the road models.
Another way to compare and find out if a model is good is by the specs. The Bodyfit trainer comes with the following:
1) 13 program computer (not too bad, but pretty average). It shows speed, heart rate, time, distance, calories that you have worked off, and body fat…so again pretty standard.
2) The flywheel is 4.2 KG and has 2 way bearings
3) The crank system is a 3-piece system
4) There are 6 fitness routines pre-programmed into the machine. This is possibly the most dissapointing, as 6 really is not that much given all the options out there. However, the cost is only $250 so what can you really expect?
The bottom line, is that the Proform Bodyfit 310 is a very basic model, that will work if that is what you are looking for – just don’t expect to use it extremely heavily for the rest of your life. A better option for the same price range is the Body Rider Magnetic Elliptical Trainer.

If you want to successfully do something about your figure than you have to change your eating pattern and start exercising. Both seem very easy but are quite hard to keep up with for a longer period of time. That is why exercising at your own home is becoming very popular. It has many benefits compared to going to the gym and it is also much cheaper. There are many different types of exercising that you can do at your own home but running on a treadmill is probably the most easiest thing to do.
A treadmill is a great way to start losing weight and you will only need 15 minutes of exercising every day. Instead of going to the gym which costs you valuable time and effort, now you can do your exercising while watching television or listening to your favorite music, you could even do it while watching your kids. Treadmills are a small investment but when you are planning to use them regularly they will earn themselves back soon enough.
If you are considering buying a treadmill than basically you have to choose between motorized treadmills and electric treadmills. The advantage of motorized treadmills is that they are cheaper and they do not need electricity which will also save you money on your electricity bill. The machine starts working when you start running and it will automatically keep pace with you. If you are more interested in buying an electric treadmill than expect to pay more for it compared to a motorized treadmill. The mayor advantages of electric treadmills are that they have a lot of extra features that you can use. You can set the speed off the machine on different levels and they have levels for beginners and advanced runners. You also don’t have to set up the speed manually, the machine will let you run on the pace that you select in the set up panel. There are also treadmills available that can monitor your heart rate and many more nice features.
More and more people are looking for elliptical machines for sale online, and you might be wondering why. Elliptical machines are one of today’s leading pieces of fitness and gym equipment. At the rate their popularity is growing, they are even expected to surpass the treadmills in America alone. Aside from the fact that you can easily find affordable elliptical machines, why has the elliptical trainer become the talk of the town?
Primarily, what has caused this upturn is the mechanics of the elliptical machine itself. Unlike treadmills which only work on the lower part of the body, elliptical machines also provide a decent workout to your upper half at the same time. Because multiple muscle groups are engaged in physical activity all at once, the heart rate increases at a faster pace and the body burns more calories. Thus, you gain a better cardiovascular fitness and achieve more efficient overall workout results.
Another reason why the elliptical machine has become a better option over other fitness machines is because of its capability to effectively tone the body. The dual handlebars allow your upper body to gain the benefits of engaging in cross-country skiing. The motion strengthens the shoulders, back, biceps, and triceps and tones the muscles in the upper body. The foot gliders on the other hand exercise your lower half and strengthen the thighs, legs, hips, butt and even the abdomen.
Elliptical machines are also helpful in maintaining healthy bone density and joint health. By helping you achieve thicker bones, you likewise become less prone to injury. Not only that. You can also prevent acquiring osteoporosis and its onset through the workouts that elliptical equipment can provide. This is because the bones become stronger as more demands are placed on them; conversely, they become weaker and less dense as you get older. In terms of joint health, elliptical machines are low impact fitness equipment. This means that there is little to no pressure on your feet, legs and joints. The advantage of this is that you are far from the risks of joint injuries when you use the elliptical trainer to exercise, compared to traditional machines and methods which always have a weight bearing on the joints.
Elliptical machines allow your body to experience a full body workout with the least possible exertion and stress. Because they simultaneously workout your upper and lower bodies, you get the most out of a workout and burn more calories than you normally would from a typical fitness machine or exercise. But most of all, because they minimize the risks of injury which no other gym equipment does, they stand to be one of the best workout machines in existence today.
While a flood of exercise equipment exists on the market today, one of the most popular ways to tone legs and shed pounds is to use a home treadmill machine. Since treadmills are expensive machines, it is best to find one that maximizes the money invested in it. At four-hundred dollars, the Wal-Mart special, the Gold’s Gym 450, perhaps boasts the best value of any machine on the market at the moment.
The Gold’s Gym 450 is perfect for a slower exerciser, as the machine is not built sturdy enough for running, but it is fabulous for those who want to do regular walking or light jogging. The machine measures eighteen inches by fifty inches and is quite easy to assemble. This inexpensive treadmill has a short warranty, so users should handle it with care.
Another relatively cheap option is the Horizon Evolve SG, which retails for six-hundred dollars. This reasonable alternative is also extremely compact and has no assembly required to get it up and running. Like the Gold’s Gym 450, it is only meant to be used for walking or very light jogging since its maximum weight capacity is a mere two-hundred and fifty pounds. The Horizon also has a short warranty, so again, customers should take good care of the machine if they desire many years of use.
The Sole F63, however, is crafted for daily workouts of both walking and jogging. Starting at one thousand dollars, this exercise treadmill employs a two and a half horsepower motor and can reach speeds of ten miles per hour. The Sole F63 possesses a fifteen percent incline, which is five percent more than many other treadmills, and it can hold almost double the weight of the less expensive models. Even though the Sole F63 is almost twice the price of the other best cheap treadmills, it offers almost triple the gadgets with such things as a wireless chest-strap heart-rate monitor, an audio input with speakers, adaptations for an MP3 player, a quiet motor, and a sturdy design. If you have the cash available its certainly worth a look.
There are a ton of different pedometer watches out there and all of them have their own little quirks. After extensive research and testing I have compiled a list of the top five choices for pedometer watches. You might not agree with some of my choices and everyone is entitled to their own opinions but these are the five that have worked for me in my running and walking fitness routine. They also look damn good.
So without further adieu, here are the Pedometer Watch.com’s Top 5 picks for best pedometer watch currently on the market. Use them to track distance, walking steps, calories burned, and all sorts of other statistics. They combine the aesthetic value of a sleek looking sports watch with the age-old technology of the pedometer. When you turn these babies on they will immediately begin tracking your steps and when you slow down to a sweaty halt, they shut off automatically as to make sure and only count those steps that matter.
1. The Sportline Pedometer Heart Rate Watch 960:
Price:$66.23 This one makes it to the top of the list because of the design. I love the minimalist black wrist strap and silver clock face. Not only is the Sportline Pedometer a step tracker and stop watch but it also manages to keep track of your heart rate through a finger pad as well. You can use this particular watch to track daily steps by having it calibrated to automatically turn on at certain times of the day or whenever it feels you moving or you can choose to stick to the hard stuff and track only those steps you do during your regular workout routine.
2. New Balance Sports Monitor
Price:$78.99 New Balance makes some great shoes and they make even better sports equipment. This pedometer watch model can also track both daily and aerobic steps and it even gives you the option to set goals and will spit out progress reports when you want them. It doesn’t have a heart rate monitor but the other functions it has make up for that: 100 lap chronograph, stopwatch timer, and daily alarm. The cost isn’t too bad either.
3. Polar AW200 Activity Watch
Price:$88.00 This watch is purely for the dedicated power walkers and runners. It doesn’t have the option to track casual daily steps and that is one of its drawbacks. However, there are some other great functions like the barometer and temperature displays and the altimeter that shows elevation changes as you make your way running along the Alps or something like that. I have no idea why it is market for over $200 retail though, at a price like that it should do a lot more and at least have some sort of goal setting function.
