Among the various new liposuction procedures, who constantly offer new alternatives in the interest of the patient, laser liposuction or laser lipolysis, is one of the most recent. This new liposuction procedure promotes early recovery, reduce or eliminate the bleeding and allows a return to everyday life faster, but above all, allows a better retraction of the skin tissue, preventing unpleasant irregularities and loose skin. The operation is performed using local anesthesia and sedation.
While there are different techniques of laser liposuction (external and internal laser for example), generally this technique uses a beam of low power laser light to break down the fatty deposits (fat cells) and smoothly liquefy it. Semi-liquid fat is easily removed suctioning with a cannula or expelled by the body through feces and urine. In the case of external laser, the procedure is superficial and the light does not directly touch the fat. In the case of internal laser, the laser is inserted under the skin through a thin fiber especially manufactured to destroy only the fat cells without affecting or damaging other tissues.
The laser liposuction intervention begins with local anesthesia and sedation, after which a small tube is inserted into the subcutaneous fat carrying a fiber laser. The surgeon will move back and forth the laser through a thin fiber dissolving the fat cells, which are then suctioned with a tube of approximately 0.3milímetros.
The advantages of this new liposuction procedure in relation to conventional liposuction are significant, since it produces less tissue trauma that translates into almost no postoperative swelling, pain or discomfort. Laser liposuction can also achieve a faster patient recovery, there will be no bruises or marks, and therefore the first results of its new shape will be seen much earlier. Finally, retraction of the skin is increased, improving the appearance of the treated area that will not have marks or irregularities of any kind. Laser Liposuction is ideal for those who have little body fat and want to define certain areas, reaching a further stylized figure.
As the laser liposuction interventions do not use cuts in the skin, the patients do not require hospitalization, and, depending on the volume of the fat removed and the treated areas, usually can perform normal activities 24 hours after undergoing surgery, which is an improvement over other techniques.
