I know I have a hard time finding good cheap running shoes and I have a lot of friends that say the same thing. I even asked my physician for tips but he really didn’t tell me much. Here are some tips I have found that come in handy when shopping for the perfect shoes for running. I love running and anyone who loves running can tell you exactly how important it is to have the right shoes.

You need to find your perfect size. They can’t be too small but they should fit snug and be comfortable. I am kind of hard to fit and one thing I found out rather quickly is that different brands sometimes size their shoes differently; Asics running shoes differ in size massivly compared to say New Balance running shoes. This can be tricky and I had to figure out what sizes I needed in different brands and that meant trying on a lot of shoes. Keep in mind that if the fit isn’t right they will be uncomfortable or worse they may rub and cause blisters.

Arch support is important in shoes. This helps prevent damage to your feet and makes them more comfortable especially if you wear them for long periods of time. If you run daily or even if you just run often for long stretches then good arch supports are a must.

Ankle support is a big help as well. You don’t want something that will rub blisters on your ankles but at the same time you do want a shoe that won’t allow your foot to turn easily. If you run on uneven surfaces a lot then you could possible twist or even break your ankle if your shoe doesn’t fit properly.

To keep from needing a new pair in a week’s time you should look for some that are durable. Take into consideration things like weather conditions when you run. Some may fall apart quickly if they get wet often.

Refrain from buying running shoes simply because they are cheap or on sale. You don’t have to buy the latest fashion but you get what you pay for. If you have to buy a new pair soon because of an impulse purchase then you really haven’t saved any money. Shop around and get a good price on a quality shoe and you will be happy you did,

Running is a wonderful sport and a good pair of running shoes is essential. Running is great exercise and does wonders for your heart. Buy your shoes today and start on a life long journey.
